PhotoPro

PhotoPro is a monthly column that I started writing for DIVE Magazine at the start of 2009 and remains on going. The column aims to help you take better underwater photographs, whether you use a compact or SLR camera. While the column unashamedly focuses on the methods of underwater photography, I do not intend to make it a tech-fest mired in jargon and camera settings. I hope to share the key aspects of the photographic process that differentiate a stunning shot from an average one. I hope my monthly musings will prove pertinent, whatever camera system you use (there are more technical articles in the Online Articles section of this website).

A few months after publication in DIVE Magazine, DIVE add the columns to their website. Once they are online there, I will also reproduce them here. Underwater photography is always progressing, so I guess that if this column runs for several years, some opinions will date. But I have chosen to put them up online as they were originally written, rather than updating them (original publication dates are included). Click on the links below to read them.
